Nevada's First Lady Dawn Gibbons and Treatment Solutions Network Join Forces to Acknowledge Washoe County School District's Safe and Drug Free Scho

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Business Wire EON) June 18, 2008 -- Originally slated for April, the Treatment Solutions Network's Back To Basics conference was set to kickoff their 12th step tradition by recognizing a local organization for their incredible effort to make a dent in the ongoing fight against drug and alcohol abuse by rewarding them with a contribution. Everything was set and Treatment Solutions Network was prepared to host a stellar kickoff event designed to entertain the community and recognize Katherine Loudon, the local Washoe County School District Superintendents, Board of Trustees, and local drug education supporters for the groundbreaking work they are doing with their Safe & Drug Free Schools Program (http://www.washoe.k12.nv.us/schools/safeanddrugfreeschools/). Not so fast! An incredible thing happened when the nationwide supporters of Treatment Solutions Network caught wind of the amazing work being done by the mighty Washoe team?others wanted to contribute to the donation being made to the Safe and Drug Free Schools Program. Treatment Solutions Network happily obliged and pushed back the entire conference until June so everyone would have an opportunity to support this effort.

In what can only be described as a classic expression of selfless support, some of the top professionals in the field stepped forward and literally put their money where their mouths were by taking a modest $1,000.00 donation and turning it into a $5,500.00 check to be presented to the Washoe County School District for the work they are doing to educate and save lives.

Recognized as true angels, final contributions were made by Treatment Solutions of South Florida, Treatment Solutions Network, Park Bench Counseling Group, Inspirations, Med-Pro, EASI (Employee Assistance Solutions International), Street Relations, C4 Recovery Solutions, Mr. Rick Thues, Ms. Jane Gilchrest and GM Reno SPO plant & The Center for GM-UAW Human Resources.

While most would consider that an incredible show of support and solidarity, one more angel flapped her wings, Nevada's First Lady Dawn Gibbons learned of the Washoe County phenomenon and graciously agreed to attend the ceremony on the evening of June 25th at 7:00 pm and take it a step further by presenting the school district with a certificate of merit.

The entire evening is open to the public and beyond the ceremonious check presentation and presentation by the First Lady, the ceremony will be followed by a performance from nationally renowned comedian, Mark Lundholm (http://www.marklundholm.com/). While the comedic performance will be rated PG, the entire community is invited to attend the event!
